So I decided to drop out of the Het Big Bang for this year. It's been a pretty shite year at work which sapped a lot of my mojo for anything longer than a comment fic piece and the 9k of words that I have will never be stretched to 25k by the end of August. Which sucks because I hate dropping out of things, I love the Het Big Bang challenge and I actually know exactly how I want the story to go - it's just that every time I sit down to write anything on it, my brain goes "Nope" and I end up staring at a blank screen.

On the other hand, I started a completely different fic yesterday, just writing out a snippet of something that came into my head and I now have *checks word counter* 7,127 words of angsty fluffy plot with a few other scenes in my head that will need to be written to make it work as an actual fic that makes sense and stuff. The irony that I could have just pulled a switcheroo and declared this for the Het Big Bang Mini Bang option is not lost on me, alas I had already filled out the poll by the time I realised that I'd written 5000 words in 12 hours. Plus it's a literal fandom of two, but hey it is making me happy and not much has done that this year so yeah.

So it appears that I'm going to be moving again in about two months. I'll save the whys and wherefores for another time, but in order to clear out things I don't feel like moving, and raise moving funds, I'm holding a virtual garage sale. If you're interested in any of the books of DVDs below, comment or PM me.

Marvel comics, literary criticism, and more. )

I am willing to negotiate on everything except the Stargate DVDs, which I have sentimental attachment to and for some reason am willing to part with, but only if they all go out together. Shipping is free in the US. I will send everything USPS Media Mail. If you're outside of the US, we can probably come to an arrangement.

If my brain put half as much effort into important things as it does into figuring out how fictional universes work, I might actually be able to make some progress in life.

Me: What should I do about this housing situation? Should I move or shouldn't I?
My brain: Dunno, but you know what could explain instantaneous Vulcan telepthy across light years? Quantum entanglement.
Me: Um, thanks?

I never usually do the 1_million_words pool party challenge because I can usually never find a fandom I've never written anything in. But a fortuitous "Where are they now" newspaper article sent me on a google search which sent me down a rabbit hole where I was reminded that old fandoms never really die, they just get uploaded on to YouTube where they can live forever.

So this is set during the season nine episode "The Good Book" aka The One Where Everybody Comes Back to Cooper's Crossing and we get our Tom and Chris reunion which happens off screen and I am forever bitter. As is smiley_b, who encouraged this insanity.

Yay I actually know what happens next!

I need a nuclear physicist.

Or an astrophysicist.

Anyone with 'physicist' in their title could answer this question, but my Google-fu is failing so hard.

I really don't want to Google 'how to jury rig a nuclear weapon'.

I can't kill the baby.

I killed an infant once before and if I do it again, people are going to wonder about me.

There is no way for that baby to make it out alive.

I have no idea what happens next.

My errands were done much faster than I expected this morning, so after a bit of scribblin' I decided to see Spiderman: Homecoming.

First: trailers! The Dark Tower! (BWEE!!!) Some... other stuff! that I don't remember because it's not relevant to anything I'm a fan of! Justice League! which got an "Awesome!" from one very small audience member. I am there for Aquaman (I mean, the Momoa, come on) and Wonder Woman. Judgement reserved about the rest, though I like Ezra Miller a lot, so I'm willing to believe him as the Flash.

and here there be spoilers. capslocky spoilers )
